Dear all
Below a brief up-date from Heatnet:
Macro perspective
Europe is experiencing high energy prices, especially for natural gas and diesel. European wholesale natural gas prices have risen approximately 20% in the past month reaching close to €90/MWh on Oct 19, thus approaching their highest levels since late 2022. Prices are currently driven by supply disruptions and low storage levels ahead of winter. Colder weather and stronger competition from Asia are likely to further drive-up prices. All in all, we can expect inflation to increase thereby deteriorating the cost-of-living crisis, and in turn further aggravating social and political tensions. Combine this with ballooning debt costs, slower growth, and you get a very bitter cocktail. We could all see this coming. And yet, here we are. The way forward? Accelerate decarbonisation to reduce imports, support the local economy, and derisk heating.
From Savile Row to H&M.
DHC Academy
We have developed a course catalogue consisting of 23 VET training courses – you will find them on our webpage: heatnetglobal.com/training/course-catalogue
In the coming months we will launch the following courses:
- Decarbonising Heat – Introductory course
- Small Scale Heat Networks – Affordable and replicable heat network systems in towns, villages, and rural areas
- Asset Management of Heat Networks – Solutions and Practices to Optimise Performance, Life-Cycle Costs and Overall Returns
- Recovering Industrial Waste Heat – Implementing cost-effective Energy Recovery Systems for small scale industries and incineration facilities
- Digital Transformation for DHC – Introductory course on What – Why – How
- Quick Fix Kit for Cooling Buildings – How to make buildings ready for next summer (in collaboration with Engineers Europe)
We will be back with details on each of these courses shortly. Drop us a mail if you wish to learn more.
Heatnet Kits
To scale up investments in decarbonisation of heating and cooling we must reduce capex and risks. To do so our sector needs to take the leap from tailor-made to industrialisation. From Savile Row to H&M. This is the aim of the “kits”-approach – to combine proven technologies and processes into standardised, affordable, and replicable packages. From individual bricks to packaged kits. Think IKEA or LEGO.
There is clearly a strong interest in this approach among all stakeholder groups – operators, developers, technology suppliers, training providers, etc. In cooperation with industry partners, we are currently in the process of developing four kits, each addressing a common application area:
- Recovering Industrial Waste Heat – Implementing cost-effective Energy Recovery Systems for small scale industries and incineration facilities. Investments currently underway in India under the brand RETAINERGY – www.retainergy.com
- Small Scale Heat Networks – Affordable and replicable heat networks in towns, villages, and rural areas
- Asset Management of Heat Networks – Solutions and Practices to Optimise Performance, LCC and overall returns
- Quick Fix kit for Cooling Buildings – Getting ready for next summer (in collaboration with Engineers Europe)
We will be back with more information via newsletters and on our web page as the kits evolve. Drop us a mail if you wish to learn more at this stage.
Heatnet Webpage and Team
We have just launched our new webpage – www.heatnetglobal.com. We will further develop the content in the coming weeks and months, also introducing our team members and partners.
