Heatnet Global - Online Workshop - Data Centres
Heating the bath with your phone! Data centers is a rapidly growing sector across the globe. By 2030 annual investments are expected to reach USD700B, equal to the GDP of Sweden. The servers installed will consume some 8 000 TWh per year, 35 times more than all power used in the UK.

Heatnet Global - Online Workshop
About the event
You are invited to an online workshop highlighting strategies, commercial models, and technical solutions to recover and distribute waste heat from data centres. In the session, you will meet engineering specialists, technology providers, and operators with extensive hands-on experience in this field. We will also highlight some relevant reference cases as well as projects underway.
The conversation will be divided into three sections:
• The commercial case – turning heat recovery into a business opportunity
• The toolbox – proven strategies and technologies
• The opportunities – where is the market, and how to access it
Data centres constitute a huge and easily accessible source of heat. Currently, the excess heat is discharged into the air, typically using a chiller or a cooling tower. The temperature range of this waste heat, 35–45°C, makes it suitable for heating buildings. The recovered heat can be recycled directly into low-temperature networks. Another option…
